Vancouver Neighborhoods If a city is judged by its diversity
and culture, it is likely that Vancouver neighborhoods would take top
honors. Vancouver neighborhoods include a large number of distinct communities
that are bounded by the bodies of water and mountains that make up some
of their borders. There are no less than a dozen different Vancouver
neighborhoods which invite residents to stroll colorful sidewalks, savor
spectacular settings and soak in a wide range of urban vibes with roots
in many different cultures and ways of life.
Many Vancouver neighborhoods
are located so close to each other that they overlap, but at the same
time each of the Vancouver neighborhoods has its own unique flavor.
Downtown and its close proximity to Chinatown, Yaletown and historic
Gastown, bursts with the vivid colors of shopping and theatre, exotic
and varied cuisine and a vibrant culture. Vancouver neighborhoods also
include Kitsilano, where apartments and houses are suited to young urban
professionals who enjoy the relaxed atmosphere centered on West Fourth
Avenue and West Broadway, where bookstores, ethnic restaurants, cafes
and specialty retailers offer plenty of places to explore.
Some of the most exclusive of Vancouver neighborhoods include Point
Grey and Kerrisdale, where more luxurious and stately homes are being
re-built by the sea. South Granville has an eclectic mix of coffee shops,
antique stores, boutique clothing stores and interior design shops.
